Sine Negrense magapatigayon sang libre nga guerrilla filmmaking workshop

Nagpanawagan ang Sine Negrense sa mga nagahandum maghimo sang pelikula nga mag-partisipar sa Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop nga pagahiwaton sa Agosto 30-31, 2025 sa Negros Museum, siyudad sang Bacolod. 

Bukas ang ini nga programa para sa mga taga-Negros nga interesado pabakuron ila abilidad sa paghuman sang pelikula. 

Lakip sa magatudlo sa sini nga workshop ang mga lokal nga propesyonal nga eksperto sa industriya sang pelikula. 

Tuyo sang Sine Negrense makahatag inspirasyon sa mga Negrense nga nagahandum maka-ubra sang pelikula samtang ginapakita ang kultura sang Negros. Luyag man nila mahatagan sang panimad-on ang mga lokal agud mangin maalam sa ila mga ideya kag proseso sa pag-ubra pelikula.

Mga Klase kag Manunudlo

Pulo ka topiko ang lakip sa sini nga workshop, kon sa diin kada isa may lain-lain nga manunudlo nga magapaambit sang ila nagkalain-lain nga ideya sa pagpelikula. 

Limitado lang sa isa ka klase sa aga kag isa sa hapon ang puwede nga sudlan sang mga tumalambong. 

Aga nga Sesyon

Wanggo Gallaga (Storytelling and Script Development)

Kilala si Gallaga sa pagsulat sang mga screenplay ka mga independent nga pelikula parihus sang Sonata (2013) kung sa diin Negros Occidental ang lokasyon. Nagasulat man siya para sa site nga ClickTheCity bilang isa ka kritiko sang pelikula. 

Jonathan Jurilla (Directing)

Isa ka propesor sa University of the Philippines Visayas, gadirehe si Jurilla sang mga Ilonggo nga short films nga gareplektar sang mga kinaandan didto. Opisyal nga entry ang iya nga pinakauna nga feature-length, Love Child (2024), sa Cinemalaya kag nanominar pa siya bilang Best Director sa manug-abot nga 8th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards. 

Noel Pahayupan (Acting for Film)

Sa teatro ang kinaadman ni Pahayupan halin pa sang naging miyembro siya sang Maskara Theatre Ensemble sa University of St. La Salle. Nagamit niya ang iya talento sa pag-arte sa mga independent nga pelikula kag mga kolaborasyon kaupod ang mga artista kag direktor parihus ni Glenn Sevilla Mas kag Peque Gallaga. 

Paolo Lindaya (Cinematography)

Ginpatindog ni Lindaya ang Grilled Cheese Studios, isa ka kumpanya sa Bacolod nga lakip sa serbisyo ang produksyon sang mga bidyo kag pelikula. Sa gwa sang Negros, nag-ubra siya sa GMA7 kag TV5 bilang Master Editor kag nanominar ang iya kontribusyon sa Sheika (2010)  para sa “Best Sound Design” sa 34th Gawad Urian Awards. 

Poli Gonzales (Visual Effects)

Nadaog ni Gonzales ang “Best Visual FX” sa Urban Action Showcase International Action Film Festival para sa pelikula nga Blood Hunters: Rise of the Hybrids (2019). Nanominar man ang iya talento para sa “Best Visual Effects” sa 48th Metro Manila Film Festival para sa Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told (2022). 

Hapon nga Sesyon

Julius Dela Peña (Editing)

Nagasirbe nga Artistic Director si Dela Peña sa La Salle Film Society. Ang iya nga short film, No Trespassing (2022), nakuha ang Gold Award sa Pelikulove Film Festival kag naupod ini sa Shoutout Pinas, isa ka antolohiya, nga nagdaug sang Best Film on Social Message sa 2024 Global India International Film Festival.

Kathryn Baynosa (Production Design)

Aktibo si Baynosa sa pag-organisar sang mga workshop kag film events diri sa Negros samtang gaubra siya bilang isa ka Production Designer sa Sugar Rush Productions kag Grilled Cheese Studios. Para sa short film nga Chicken Inasal (Those Little Things) (2024), nabatunan niya ang “Best Production Design” award sa pinakauna nga Bacolod Film Festival.

Rolf Baynosa (Sound Design)

Isa ka musikero si Baynosa nga ginagamit man ang talento sa Sound Design para sa mga palagwaon. Sa pinakauna nga Bacolod Film Festival, nakuha niya ang “Best Sound Design” award para sa short film nga Chicken Inasal (Those Little Things) (2024). 

Carlos Durana (Make-up for Film)

Si Durana ang tag-iya sang Carlos Durana Makeup Studio nga nagbulig na sa mga produksyon ka bidyo kag pelikula sa Bacolod. Gawas da, bukas man ang ila serbisyo para sa kasal, pageants, kag live event.  

Althea Mauricio (Production Management) 

Nagsugod sa industriya si Mauricio bilang isa ka artista sa pelikula kag teatro parihus sang Anatomiya Sang Korupsyon (2016) nga gindirehe ni Peque Gallaga. Sa subong, gaubra pa gid siya sa likod sang kamera bilang isa ka Production Manager para sa Banjo Hinolan Films.

English Translation

Sine Negrense opened applications for rising filmmakers to participate in their Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop to be held on August 30 to 31, 2025, at Negros Museum, Bacolod City.

This program is eligible for residents of Negros Island interested in strengthening their abilities in film development. 

Joining this workshop, local professionals with backgrounds in the creative industry will serve as the participants’ mentors.

Sine Negrense aims to inspire as well as equip Negros Island’s film scene with essential knowledge while showcasing Negros culture. They also want to provide avenues for the participants to improve upon their ideas and processes in filmmaking. 

Classes and Instructors 

This workshop includes ten subjects, each with a different instructor who will share their expertise in their designated subject. 

Participants will only be allowed to sign up for one class in the morning and one class in the afternoon.

Morning Sessions

Wanggo Gallaga (Storytelling and Script Development)

Gallaga is known for his works in screenwriting for independent films like Sonata (2013), which was shot on location in Negros Occidental. He also writes as a film critic for the website ClickTheCity.

Jonathan Jurilla (Directing)

A professor at the University of the Philippines Visayas, Jurilla directed multiple Ilonggo short films reflecting the experiences there. His first feature-length film, Love Child (2024),  was an official entry to Cinemalaya and earned him a nomination for Best Director in the upcoming 8th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards. 

Noel Pahayupan (Acting for Film)

Pahayupan’s experiences are rooted in the theater since he was a member of the University of St. La Salle’s Maskara Theatre Ensemble. His acting talents were further utilized in his involvement in independent films and creative collaborations with artists and directors such as Glenn Sevilla Mas and Peque Gallaga.

Lindaya established Grilled Cheese Studios, a Bacolod company whose services include video and film production. Outside Negros, he worked for GMA7 and TV5 as Master Editor, and his contributions for Sheika (2010) were nominated for “Best Sound Design” in the 34th Gawad Urian Awards.

Afternoon Sessions

Baynosa is active in the Negros film scene, organizing workshops and film events while also working as the Production Designer for Sugar Rush Productions and Grilled Cheese Studios. For the short film Chicken Inasal (Those Little Things) (2024), she received the  “Best Production Design” award for the first-ever Bacolod Film Festival. 

Rolf Baynosa (Sound Design)

A musician, Baynosa, in addition, uses his musical talents to devise the Sound Design for a variety of shows. In the first Bacolod Film Festival, he brought home the “Best Sound Design” award for the short film Chicken Inasal (Those Little Things) (2024). 

Carlos Durana (Make-up for Film)

Durana owns the Carlos Durana Makeup Studio, which has assisted in film and video productions. Aside from that, his team offers their services for weddings,  pageants, and live events. 

Althea Mauricio (Production Management) 

Mauricio had her start in the industry as an actress for film and theater, such as Anatomiya Sang Korupsyon (2016), directed by Peque Gallaga. As of now, she also does work behind the camera as the Production Manager for Banjo Hinolan Films.
