As part of the ongoing Hundred Islands Film Festival (HIFF) in Alaminos City, 30 selected students joined an Advanced Stop Motion Animation Workshop led by visual artist and educator Rosevie Sevilla from August 8 to 10, 2025.
Participants learned advanced camera techniques using mobile phones, editing with professional mobile applications, and creative storytelling using indigenous and recyclable materials.
“Participants didn’t just learn the theory — they immediately put it into practice by crafting their own short video exercises, applying each principle they learned. The workshop gathered young artists from elementary and secondary schools, all eager to explore the world of animation,” the festival said through their official Facebook page.
According to the festival, the workshop was an “exclusive follow-up for last year’s Basic Animation Workshop, offering them an opportunity for continuous learning and skill enhancement.”
The workshop was hosted by the Film School and the Academic Film Society of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in partnership with Alaminos local government unit and Alaminos City National High School.
