The fifth edition of Y2Cinema features films from emerging Ilokano student filmmakers that capture the theme of memory and nostalgia. Taking place last February 16, 2026, at Mariano Marcos State University’s Teatro Ilocandia, the eight featured short films tackle friendships, moments of love, and the shaping of identity.

In Don Hertzfeldt’s “World of Tomorrow,” a 16-minute animated short film, all the sci-fi shenanigans revolve around the existential struggle of an adorable 4-year-old girl coming into contact with a third-generation clone of herself 227 years in the future.
