If we bare them down to their simplest forms, a lot of the ideas in ‘28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ shouldn't mesh together at all. Except it really does.

‘28 Years Later’ is an audacious anti-legacy sequel that makes bold choices, takes big swings, and constantly shifts tones as it explores these many out-of-the-box ideas to varying levels of depth and success.

Marisa Abela’s Amy Winehouse impression and her music make this film’s formulaic womb-to-tomb story go down easier, but its fundamental basicness is tough to sit through. Moreso for Amy’s lifelong fans.
