The Playbook Club to stage ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in August 2026, with an all-female cast

The Playbook Club, in cooperation with GetSeatedPH and Madison Events, is set to stage its limited rerun of William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in August 2026. This is the show’s second staging, following its sold-out run in 2023.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare. In an enchanting forest, four young lovers and a group of rude mechanicals find themselves entangled in the magical world of the fairies. This play explores themes of love, illusion, and the unpredictable nature of human desire.
The Fairies are composed of returning cast members Dippy Arceo as Puck/Philostrate, Nikki Bengzon as Oberon/Theseus, and new cast member Mijon Cortez as Titania/Hippolyta.
Coming together as the Mechanicals are Barbara Jance as Peter Quince/Egeus and Philomena Yap as Bottom.
Reprising their roles as the Lovers are Giselle Giorgia as Lysander/Starveling the Tailor and Chez Cuenca as Helena/Snob the Joiner. Teia Contreras steps into the role of Hermia while also reprising her role as Flute the Bellows-Mender. Completing the Lovers is new cast member leanne as Demetrius/Snout the Tinker.
Nelsito Gomez helms the production once more as its director. Alongside him on the creative team are Sarah Facuri (production designer), Rafa Sumilong (lighting designer), Uriel Tibayan (sound designer), and Katreana Gamban (stage manager).
The Playbook Club’s rerun of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged for two days across four shows: on August 22 at 8:00 PM, as well as August 23 at 1:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 8:00 PM at The Mirror Studio Theater. Tickets are available through the Playbook Club’s Google Form.
