ICYMI: From Sold-Out Success to Highly-Anticipated Rerun: ‘Para Kay B’ is back on stage this September

The story that left audiences in tears, laughter, and quiet self-reflection is coming back to do it all over again. The highly acclaimed stage adaptation of Ricky Lee’s best-selling novel Para Kay B will return for a limited rerun from 12–28 September 2025 at The Doreen Black Box Theater, Ateneo De Manila University.

Based on Ricky Lee’s groundbreaking novel, Para Kay B dares to ask the unflinching question: “Sa limang umiibig, isa lang ba talaga ang p’wedeng maging maligaya?” The play weaves together five interconnected love stories, each exploring the beauty, chaos, and heartbreak of loving and being loved. Audiences can expect raw, unfiltered performances, lines that feel eerily personal, and moments that will have them whispering, “Wait lang, ako ‘to ah…”

Produced by LA ProdHouse and Fire and Ice LIVE!, the production is spearheaded by director Yong Tapang, Jr., who also serves as one of the producers alongside Lambert Angeles, Voltaire de Jesus, Liza Diño, and Ice Seguerra. This creative team, backed by an equally formidable crew of designers, choreographers, and stage managers, promises a rerun that will not only match but deepen the emotional impact of its first sold-out run.

Following its critically praised premiere, which played to packed houses and rave word-of-mouth, the rerun introduces new layers, fresh casting choices, and the reopening of old wounds for both characters and audiences.

“What makes Para Kay B's theatrical rerun exciting is the addition of our new cast. Each new actor will bring an interesting flavor not just to the production but to the whole storytelling as well,” director Tapang said in a statement.

“Some of our new cast members were able to do Para Kay B even before it was fully staged. It will be a totally different experience from the previous run.”

The powerhouse cast includes Mario Magallona, Ava Santos, Liza Diño, Maria Alilia “Mosang” Bagio, Martha Comia, Sarah Garcia, Via Antonio, Phi Palmos, and more, supported by an exceptional creative team including Playwright Eljay Castro Deldoc, Creative Consultant Phi Palmos, Choreographer Kirby Dunnzell, Technical Director Yabs, Costume Designer Raven Ong, and Set Designer Julia Pacificador.

“When we first staged Para Kay B, we knew we had something special but we never imagined the response would be so overwhelming. We sold out almost all of the shows and audiences kept asking when we’d bring it back,” said Diño, one of the producers who is also playing the role of Ester, one of the lead characters.

“That kind of love from the theatre community is rare, and it fuels us to make this rerun even more heartfelt and unforgettable. We’re inviting everyone, whether you saw it the first time or are discovering it now, to join us, laugh with us, cry with us, and be part of this journey once more.”

With its combination of biting humor, relatable storytelling, and emotional catharsis, Para Kay B is poised once again to be the talk of the theatre scene: a must-watch for anyone who’s ever loved and lost.
